Farewell New Zealand

So, it’s farewell New Zealand, but not for too long I hope. We arrived with high expectations which have been exceeded by far. The landscape, the people, the hospitality and the sense of adventure have all been great. Even the weather has shined on us for most of the time.

But not today. We arrived at Kaikoura yesterday in beautiful sun and woke this morning to low cloud and heavy rain. Our planned trip to see whales had to be cancelled; yet another reason to come back. Instead we headed to Nin’sBin for fresh crayfish overlooking the ocean. What better memory of a wonderful country.

By the way, that’s Nin’s granddaughter, and their third caravan. The previous one was written off by a drunk driver at 8.30am, with Nin inside. She was alright, but demanded the drunk purchase some crayfish.
