Up close and personal with the Golden Gate Bridge

We got a taxi up to the viewing point for the Golden Gate Bridge and then walked across the bridge and up to Sausalito, a walk of about four miles in total. We had been assured that it was going to rain all day so we were pleased to find that it was not raining, and that the weather for gradually better throughout the day.

Up close, the bridge is a remarkable structure, opened in 1937. Hope the pictures give those of you who have not worked it some sense of it. By the way, I don’t like heights, hence the last picture.
