We arrived in Santiago yesterday afternoon. It was hot, dry and windless and bit oppressive after 20+ hours in transit. This morning it was nice and fresh before the sun came up and it was a pleasure to walk in the area round the hotel and watch the city come to life. As you can see from this image, Santiago prides itself as thriving, modern city with some of the tallest buildings in South America.
