Nestling on the side of the Dornoch Firth is the small Balblair Distillery which has been on this site since 1790. Long overshadowed by Glenmorangie a few miles down the road, it is one of a number of small distilleries throughout Scotland which are benefiting in the global demand for Scottish whisky. It sits in in the midst of fields and has a newly-opened shop and distillery tour. Accessed from Edderton, it is well worth a visit.
