As you can see I have been experimenting this week with still life photographs, using game and vegetables from the garden. I’m drawing inspiration from various sources, most particularly a wonderful book of ‘discovered’ photographs by a Victorian gardener called Charles Jones. The photographs had been lost until in 1981 a photographic collector, Sean Sexton, found them in a trunk being sold in Bermondsey antique market. It was a wonderful discovery as the picture below indicates:
The book is called The Plant Kingdoms of Charles Jones and is well worth acquiring.
