I was walking by Horseguards yesterday afternoon. It was a cool afternoon with a watery light. The normal throng of tourists had come to warm up and Horseguards Parade was unusually quiet. I thought the light, although subtle was very attractive and so stopped for five minutes to take some pictures. The London Eye rising in the background ought to be an eyesore, but it is now so much part of the London scene that the view would feel empty without it. This must be one of the most photographed scenes in London but at this moment it felt like I had the place to myself.
