I had a fun but rather snatched photo session with this trio yesterday. It seems to me the keys to any success in photographing children are to be well-prepared, able to work quickly and to improvise. None of these pictures were quite what I had in mind but I think they all work. The lighting is not quite right but, to be honest, I only worked out how I would change it after we had finished. And by then the moment had passed.
