It has been a wet and windy day today, one for hunkering down and doing some reading. But towards the end of the day the sun came out through the clouds and the light was briefly fantastic; much better than that hot, continental sun which bleaches everything and makes for very flat pictures.

The light didn’t stay good for long, but did give me just time to take this picture of our nearest small town.
