Apologies that I am a day late in wishing everyone a happy and successful New Year. May you achieve what you want to achieve in the year ahead.

We brought in the New Year in Inverness, at the Red Hot Highland Fling. It was dry and the evening was pretty warm. There was a good crowd and some excellent bands. All in all, well done Inverness for organising an excellent, and free, event.

PS: I treated myself in ‘the sales’ to the new Sony RX100III compact camera. So far, it has far exceeded all expectations. All these photographs were taken hand held from the crowd.

I hadn't heard Manran before but they were excellent. Their fiddler/piper was undoubtedly the musician of the evening. Wonderful.
