It would be wrong to leave Rio without a picture of the beach, where all life seems to be lived. This is Cococabana beach, which stretches for several kilometres along the southern part of Rio, followed by the equally famous Ipanema Beach. But there are over 30 km of beach in total, which must be a record for any major city around the world.

Rio is a noisy, busy, shambolic but vibrant place. It’s a place where you can have a great time, and get into a lot of trouble. I’m not sure it is where you would want to live, but it is certainly a place which once met, never forgotten.
