Although much of the wonder of the Duomo in Cefalù springs from its synthesis of the Byzantine, the Norman and the Arabic, a special mention must also be made of the beautiful windows designed by Michele Canzoneri and installed in the last twenty years. There are more than 50 windows in total, each unique. They are clever and subtle, always discrete and yet adding to the wonder and mystery of the cathedral.
My sense was that they were hardly even noticed or acknowledged by most visitors but they added a great deal to our experience.
