These pictures were taken about a month ago, shooting with Carla Monaco. The dresses were created for the shoot by Suki Miles. The pictures are modelled on ‘Golden Age’ portrait by Sir John Lavery. I very much like the dark backgrounds, formal poses and focus on fabrics which characterise many of the portraits from that period immediately before World War I. The women in these portraits are always privileged and they exude a sense of empowered self-confidence. More pictures from the series can be seen here:
