The highest point on Corfu is Mount Pantokrator, and you can reach the summit by car on a long, narrow and awkward road. We took that route this morning with our destination being the monastery at the top. The monastery itself was a disappointing destination; small, poorly cared for and with an extremely large telecommunications mast no more set inside the monastery walls.

Fortunately the views from the top were some compensation, particularly as the ground was carpeted in wild flowers.
