Planning the hunt

Janis is the community shoot captain, and he owns the elk hounds. His job therefore is to identify the areas where elk might be found and to organise how the guns are positioned. Each community is given a target for how many elk they are expected to shot each season, based on an assessment of forest damage, traffic accidents etc. This last weekend the community was trying to shoot two more calves in order to meet their target. Unfortunately, although the dogs found elk no elk went anywhere near the guns. So they will out again next week to see if they can do better.
